Heat pads, hot-water bottles and heat patches are different ways of getting heat. What fits depends on the person and the job to be done.
There are thin heat patches made for period pain. Some attach to underwear and can be worn discreetly under clothing. They free the hands and can be practical when you move between tasks.
That makes them an option to consider. It does not mean everyone prefers them, or that every heat product fits under every kind of workwear and protective equipment.
Look for a documented intended use, understandable instructions and a solution that fits the working day. When buying medical devices: check CE marking and the declaration of conformity. Follow the product’s instructions on placement, duration and precautions. Heat can damage the skin if used wrongly.

Making heat available is one possible measure. The workplace must not decide that someone has to try heat before they may use medication, or suggest tablets as the standard answer to pain.
Personal advice on pain and treatment belongs with qualified health professionals, such as a doctor. An occupational health service can help with work-related follow-up; a pharmacist can advise on medicines. The robot, the author and the manager have other jobs.
Severe, new or persistent symptoms should be raised with a doctor. That something happens often does not mean it has to be endured. Support at work does not replace necessary health care.
