Helmet. Safety boots. Air that is good to breathe. Light so you can see what you are doing. Health and safety is easy to recognise when it stands right in front of us.
It also covers how the working day is put together. Can you go to the toilet when you need to? Get hold of water? Take a break? Use clothing and equipment that both protect and fit?
Menstruation and menopause belong in that same work. ISO 45010:2026 gives guidance on how a workplace can allow for these needs.

It is relevant in a small building firm, a shop and a large group. You do not need to be listed on a stock exchange or certified to ISO 45001 to use the guidance.

Look at working conditions together with employees and their safety representative. Choose measures, give someone responsibility, and check whether it works. Use your occupational health service where you need occupational health expertise.
