The competence did not
disappear overnight.

I learned that menopause can also affect sleep and concentration. The temperature of the room is not always the hardest part.
But a bad night can have many causes. I would never label an employee as “menopausal” based on age or a forgotten appointment.
Talk about the tasks instead: What is urgent? What can wait? Can we protect time, reduce interruptions or change the order? In safety-critical work, reduced alertness must be handled through the usual safety routines.
Menopause can also come earlier than expected, for instance after certain treatments. No age limit should decide who gets support. New or burdensome symptoms belong with health professionals.
So can yours.
Agree one concrete trial and a time to follow up. A better work plan can support everyday life; it does not replace treatment or necessary absence.
