ISO 45010 contains practical tools. Here are some places to begin in the published 2026 edition.
| What you are going to do | Where to find help |
|---|---|
| Begin in a small business | Clause 5.8: adaptation for small and medium-sized organisations. |
| Support managers day to day | Annex B: manager tools, conversations and workplace assessment. |
| See what is in place | Annex C: example checklist for an internal review. |
| Look at the way into the job | Annex D: support for recruitment. |
| Anchor a shared direction | Annexes E and F: culture work and an example of a shared commitment. |
| Connect to established health and safety management | Annex G: the relationship with ISO 45001. |
Choose what fits your organisation. Feel free to use existing routines and improve them step by step. The worksheet on the next page is our own simple suggestion.
Our approach is to build as much support as possible into the workplace. The standard also covers confidential follow-up of individuals. It does not say that all health and safety work must happen without personal data.
